The Saskatoon Spinners and Weavers Guild is a non-profit organization founded in 1977. Our purpose is to promote the crafts of weaving, spinning dyeing, knitting, and associated fibre arts.

Membership
Our members include professionals, artists, teachers, hobbyists, and beginners. We encourage anyone interested in fibre arts to join the SSWG. Members receive a newsletter with information about SSWG activities and other items of interest. They also have access to the SSWG library, equipment, programs, shows and sales. The SSWG has membership in provincial, national and international arts groups, and members can take advantage of reduced rates at some of the events sponsored by these groups.

Meetings
Meetings usually consist of a show and tell component, a brief business meeting and then a program. The programs are varied and include slide shows, lectures, demonstrations, and hands-on activities with topics related to the fibre arts. The show-and-tell part of the meeting enables members to share techniques, advice and receive encouragement through feedback.
Regular meetings are held year-round on the fourth Thursday of each month at 7pm at the SSWG Studio.
Please check our website or Facebook page to confirm the time and date of our next meeting.

Library
The Guild has an extensive library of resources ranging from books, magazines, periodicals, and CDs. The range of topics is vast, including various types of weaving, spinning, dyeing, felting and other fibre related arts. Many of our resources are rare and out of print.
Equipment
An SWWG Membership includes free access to SSWG equipment. This includes table and floor looms, various spinning wheels, a drum carder, a blending board a rag-cutter, and more.

Education
The Guild sponsors and organizes workshops and classes related to Fibre Arts. These workshops and classes take the form of either informal groups learning a technique together (Study Groups) or more structured classes such as Introduction to Weaving and Introduction to Spinning. On occasion the Guild will sponsor internationally recognized instructors to present workshops in their fields of expertise.
The Guild is also expanding its presence in the community by working with various groups to provide demonstrations and instruction in various Fibre Arts.
Shows & Sales
Shows of members’ work held in galleries around Saskatoon and Saskatchewan provide opportunities for the public to view a variety of fibre arts. The Guild also holds sales throughout the year. Keep an eye on our website and Facebook pages for upcoming events.
